Phone book functions Tip: You can also add a new name to a caller group by first recalling the desired name and number from the phone book, then pressing Options, then rolling to Caller groups and pressing Navi Roller, and then rolling to the desired caller group and pressing Navi Roller. Setting a ringing tone or graphic for a caller group and renaming a caller group 1 Press Names, roll to Caller groups and press Navi Roller. Group title To rename the caller group, key in a new name and press OK. Group ringing tone To set the phone to ring a specific ringing tone for the group, roll to the desired tone and press OK. Group graphic To set the phone to display the group graphic, roll to On and press Navi Roller. The option list includes options for viewing and sending (Send graphic) the graphic as an Over The Air (OTA) message, if supported by your network. You can also receive a new group graphic to your phone as an OTA message. When you receive a group graphic, press Show, then press Options, select Save or Discard and press Navi Roller. If you selected Save, reach the desired caller group and press Navi Roller. See also "Copying via IR"on page 46 and "Transmitting data" on page 76. Removing a name and number from a caller group 1 Press Names, roll to Caller groups and press Navi Roller. 4 Roll to the name you want to remove, press Options and roll to Remove name and press OK. Memory status You can check what percentage of the phone's internal memory is unoccupied and how many name and number entries can still be stored in the SIM card's memory. Text messages Within the Messages menu (Menu 1) you can read, write and send text (SMS) messages to another phone or, for example, to an Email address or fax if supported by your network. To send text messages, you may first need to subscribe to the text message (SMS) service. Reading text messages When you have received a text message, the indicator and the number of new messages followed by the NN Messages received is displayed. If you have received more than one new text message, press Navi Roller to read the highlighted message. To read an unread message later: Press Menu and press Navi Roller at Messages, then roll to the desired message and press Navi Roller to read it. To read the read message later: Press Menu and press Navi Roller at Messages, then press Navi Roller at Inbox. Roll to the desired message and press Navi Roller to read the highlighted message. 2 While reading the message, press Options to roll through the list of options and press Navi Roller at the highlighted option to select it. The option list includes options for erasing, replying, forwarding, moving, editing and renaming the message you are reading. You can also copy the message to your phone's calendar as a reminder note (Copy to Calendar). Replying to a text message 1 Once in a message you want to reply to, press Options, roll to Reply and press Navi Roller. Therefore, you should never rely solely upon any wireless phone for essential communications (e. g. medical emergencies). Remember, to make or receive any calls the phone must be switched on and in a service area with adequate cellular signal strength. Emergency calls may not be possible on all wireless phone networks or when certain network services and/or phone features are in use. [. . . ]
